Planning to elope in Glacier National Park? Whether you’re hiking to your ceremony spot or simply taking portraits in one of the most scenic places on earth, your bridal bouquet is along for the adventure—and you want it to look just as stunning at the summit as it did when you picked it up.

As a local florist just outside Glacier, we design bouquets specifically for wild Montana elopements. That means we think not just about how your bouquet looks—but how it holds up to wind, sun, hikes, and travel.

In this post, we’ll share our best tips for keeping your bridal bouquet fresh during your Glacier National Park elopement—from hydration hacks to smart transportation tools.

1. Choose Flowers That Can Handle the Adventure

Not all flowers are created equal—especially when it comes to outdoor elopements. We hand-select blooms that are:

  • Heat- and wind-tolerant

  • Less prone to wilting

  • Sturdy enough to be carried on a short hike

Some of our favorite Glacier elopement flowers include dahlias, lisianthus, cosmos, amaranth, and snapdragons. We also use unique foliage and textural elements that add movement and structure.

2. Pick Up Your Bouquet at the Right Time

We recommend couples pick up their bouquet either:

  • The evening before their elopement (for early sunrise morning ceremonies)

  • The morning of, for mid-day or afternoon elopements

We store bouquets in our self serve pick up cooler until couples visit the farm.

Transportation Tips: Getting Your Bouquet to the Ceremony Spot

Once you’ve picked up your bouquet from our farm, keeping it fresh on the way to your elopement location is all about care and a little planning. Whether you’re hiking to an alpine overlook or driving to a lakeside ceremony, here’s how to get your flowers there in perfect shape:

1. Keep it Cool

Avoid leaving your bouquet in a hot car, especially during the summer. Transport it in the air-conditioned part of your vehicle, and keep it out of direct sunlight. Even a short period in a hot trunk can shorten the life of delicate blooms.

2. Travel Upright

We provide each bouquet with a vase and transportation box to keep stems moist, but keeping the bouquet upright is key.

3. If You’re Hiking…

Planning to hike to your ceremony spot (like Avalanche Lake or Hidden Lake Overlook)? Here’s what we recommend:

  • Carry your bouquet by hand or gently secure it in an open-top backpack

  • Wrap the stems with a moist paper towel on until right before the ceremony

  • Bring a soft towel or wrap to protect the flowers if it’s windy or dusty

  • Avoid laying the bouquet down on rough or dirty surfaces

4. Don’t Stress About a Long Day

Our bouquets are built with hardy, seasonal flowers that hold up well outdoors, even over several hours. As long as they stay cool and hydrated during travel, the majority of your bouquet will be ready to shine when it’s time to say “I do.”

Whether you’re hiking a trail at sunrise or exchanging vows beside a glacial lake, your bouquet should feel as natural and breathtaking as the scenery around you.
